Did you know that salad isn’t as healthy as it seems without the salad dressing? Ok, so are you wondering what am I talking about when all you want to do is avoid the salad dressing and reduce your calorie intake? Well, here is the deal.

Feeling Blue
It’s Simple!
I have been one of those lucky few who hasn’t particularly had troubles with my skin. Yes! I do have my normal monthly break outs (probably 1-2 spots here and there) like most girls do, but I cannot prevent that from happening. Otherwise, I feel blessed with good skin *touch wood*. Thanks to my maternal genes and other little things I do to take care of my skin. Continue reading
Quick fix 3
So tonight my husband suggested a Chinese takeaway and I couldn’t say no because I hate cooking over the weekend. However, we have been eating out quite a lot lately and I just didn’t want to shove another take out down my throat just for the sake of it! I instead suggested to cook Chinese meal at home. A quick vegetable stir fry noodles for dinner. My husband couldn’t be more excited to be eating home cooked food finally and he was so keen to pop down to Tesco and pick up all the necessary ingredients. Bless him. Continue reading
What a girl wants, what a girl needs…
I cannot help but hum to Christina Aguilera’s song/lyrics “what a girl wants, what a girl needs…”, whilst I write this post. No! I am not talking about falling in love, holding his hands or being in his arms or anything love related. I am talking about the other fantasies like shoes, bags, clothes, jewellery, make up and a lot more, a woman secretly/openly loathes and fantasises, and a man/most men might never understand or make an attempt to understand like my beloved. Lol. So here’s what I am talking about…….. Continue reading
Luscious lips
I love makeup and I equally like playing and experimenting with colours for my eyes and lips. In this post, I will concentrate on my lips and shades I love. My favourites are the nude or neutral lipstick or lipgloss for everyday wear. Don’t we all love the nude look? But sometimes it is nice to add a dash of colour to your lips and spice up the look. Quick fix 2
Scrambled egg with cheese, onion and tomato
So I woke up this morning with a grumbling tummy. I did what most of us would do, check the food cupboard and the refrigerator for anything edible immediately. Found no milk, no bread. There were some fruits but I didn’t want to eat fruits, I wanted something more. Luckily I had about 8 eggs, some onions, tomato, grated cheese and some spices. So I decided to make a healthy spiced scrambled egg.
Love Moschino
I have taken my liking for Moschino quite literally. It was about 2 years ago when I walked into a vintage shop, I found the belt I was looking for all the while. Continue reading
Day 3 – workout
Day 3 workout session for me is usually on a Friday. The drill is the same as the other 2 days and I will not be going through the warm-up, stretches and cool down exercises in detail. This is because I usually follow the same routine most days I exercise. I have already mentioned the routine in detail in my previous post ‘Day 1- workout’. I like altering and alternating my workouts. Again, in this post the cardio exercise, abdominal exercise and the strength training will vary slightly from the previous session’s workout. Continue reading
My red and green smoothie
It has been over 2 years now since we began drinking healthy vegetable or fruit smoothies. I would like to call my drink a smoothie because I am blending the whole fruit into a thick drink as opposed to juicing, where only the juice is extracted from the fruit or vegetable. Continue reading
Day 2 – workout
Day 2 workout session for me is usually on a Wednesday. I will not be going through the warm-up, stretches and cool down exercises in detail because, I usually follow the same routine most days I exercise. I have already mentioned these in detail in my previous post ‘Day 1- workout’. I like altering and alternating my workouts. In this post the cardio exercise, abdominal exercise and the strength training will vary slightly from the previous session’s workout.
Curry leaves
Being a South-Indian, I have never failed to add curry leaves to any of my dishes. The BBC food describe them as “shiny, dark green, aromatic leaves from the citrus fruit family that release a delicious nutty aroma when fried in oil”. As the name suggests, it is used widely in curries hence the name ‘curry leaves’ and this is extensively used in Indian and South East Asian cuisine.
Day 1 – workout
Day 1 for me is most definitely and certainly ‘Monday’. The start of the week and my motivation couldn’t get any higher. I do not exercise during the weekend, so Monday is always better for me to kick start my week with a ‘feel good workout session’.
I work out!
In this post I will be giving you an overview of my workout schedule. For starters, I would like to mention that I am NOT a qualified or trained gym professional, however Continue reading
Breast cancer examination
Statistics show that 1 in 8 women fall victims to breast cancer. That 1 unfortunate person happened to be my dearest mother (I would never wish this on anyone). Having a strong family history of breast cancer, I have learnt to routinely monitor myself for any lumps or other noticeable abnormalities. Continue reading
Quick fix 1
Ravioli and Edamame salad
We all have days when we feel lazy to cook and want something quick to fill the grumbling tummy. So one of my favourite quick fix for lunch/dinner is ravioli and salad.
Fringe or tassels
I always thought that fringe or tassel looked ridiculous on clothes, shoes or bags. It always reminded me of those Komondor dogs and this might sound lame, but I almost felt like people were carrying these or wore them (lol). Continue reading
Over the years……
They say “change is constant”, which is what I take literally ;). Continue reading
Edamame
I have always liked Legumes (beans, peas, lentils) because they contain no cholesterol, they are low in fat, contain high proteins, minerals and vitamins, contain beneficial fat, a healthy substitute for meat, keeps me full for longer and tastes yum! Continue reading
Sequins
The glam sequin is just back in time for this festive season, right from the tops/blouses, dresses, jackets, shoes and accessories. Continue reading
