Afternoon tea with the girls

I mentioned on Saturday that I was having the girls over for some afternoon tea. The tea went really well. To be honest, this was the first time I was hosting tea at home and, I was so excited by the thought of it. I always remember having these ‘tea parties’ as a little girl. I would role play them by myself or, with my friends. We always had fun doing so. So, when I had the opportunity to host one as an adult, I just could not wait to step into the role of hosting one. πŸ˜€

I went over to M&S the previous day to pick up some snacks for tea. I later went over to the crockery section (unintentionally!) just to have a wander around and, I absolutely fell in love with theΒ Elizabeth crockery setΒ range. It looked so pretty and perfect for tea during spring.

The afternoon tea was nothing elaborate. Each of us decided to bring a snack or two and contribute towards this tea. It was very thoughtful of the girls to bring some snacks because that meant I didn’t have to worry too much about the menu. It was not just the traditional tea/coffee with biscuits and cake. We had a selection of Indian sweets and snacks as well to go with it.Β It was a perfect evening and it felt so good catching up with the girls. πŸ™‚

On a another note, what happened at the Boston bombings is truly horrific. Words fails me. Sending out my thoughts and prayers to all the victims and families affected by this. I wish people spread only love and not hate. Hoping for a better world for all of us.xxx

      • Woww..You know recently a restaurant has been opened here in Karachi named Bombay Chowpati and there I tasted this super crispy and chatpati bhelpuri for the first time. Loved it. Here in paksitan the most famous chaat is Channa chaat (made wit chickpeas )

      • Aww.. Glad you liked it. Where I come from in India, we had chaat centres every 500 yards. I am lucky to be living in London because, again the chaat place is not too far from where we live. My mouth is watering thinking of it. I love chaat too. πŸ˜€
