Running errands

I had some ‘me time’ today. Running errands, having lunch by myself and a tad bit of retail therapy. Oh the joy of doing things by myself. πŸ˜€

I went into Boots to buy some toiletries but ended up buying some lipsticks. I had no intentions to buy any cosmetics whatsoever but it was about time to dump my old lipsticks and buy some new shades.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! :D

I turned a year older or let’s just say younger πŸ˜‰ yesterday. My day typically began with family and friends wishing me. Isn’t it the best feeling is when you’re near and dear ones remember to wish you on you’re birthday? πŸ™‚

I had a super casual day/evening with my darling husband, who made it all the more special. A visit to the Temple, followed by lunch, coffee, shopping, dinner and cinema. Perfect! However, towards the end of the evening, the exertion caught up and I have ended up with slight flu, tucked warm in bed, writing this post now. Anyway, I had a fab birthday. Couldn’t ask for more. Happy weekend to you all.xxxxxx

What is ‘DIET’ according to you?

I decided to write this post because I have been asked this question a number of times recently, “are you dieting?”. There seems to be a lot of confusion with regards to the word ‘dieting’. Some of you may call it, “healthy eating”, the rest may simply say “not eating at all”. Well the later to me is ‘starving’! Quick fix 3

So tonight my husband suggested a Chinese takeaway and I couldn’t say no because I hate cooking over the weekend. However, we have been eating out quite a lot lately and I just didn’t want to shove another take out down my throat just for the sake of it! I instead suggested to cook Chinese meal at home. A quick vegetable stir fry noodles for dinner. My husband couldn’t be more excited to be eating home cooked food finally and he was so keen to pop down to Tesco and pick up all the necessary ingredients. Bless him. Continue reading

Quick fix 2

Scrambled egg with cheese, onion and tomato

So I woke up this morning with a grumbling tummy. I did what most of us would do, check the food cupboard and the refrigerator for anything edible immediately. Found no milk, no bread. There were some fruits but I didn’t want to eat fruits, I wanted something more. Luckily I had about 8 eggs, some onions, tomato, grated cheese and some spices. So I decided to make a healthy spiced scrambled egg.

Curry leaves

Being a South-Indian, I have never failed to add curry leaves to any of my dishes. The BBC food describe them as “shiny, dark green, aromatic leaves from the citrus fruit family that release a delicious nutty aroma when fried in oil”. As the name suggests, it is used widely in curries hence the name ‘curry leaves’ and this is extensively used in Indian and South East Asian cuisine.
